Cardinals 5th Grade Boys Basketball Falls to the Trojans

Batesville, IN — The St. Louis Cardinals faced off against the St. Michael Trojans on Tuesday evening in a competitive matchup that saw the visiting Trojans come out on top, 33-17.

The Trojans wasted no time establishing control of the game, pushing the ball up the court quickly as they jumped to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 19-6 by halftime.

Despite the challenging start, the Cardinals refused to back down. After making some adjustments at the break, the team came out strong in the third quarter, outscoring the Trojans and closing the gap to just six points. The final frame saw both teams exchange baskets, but the Cardinals ran out of time before they could complete the comeback.

John Shaw and Louie Candelot lead the way for the Cardinals scoring 8 points. Nick Siefert contributed 6 points, while Jordan Brelage added 2. Despite the loss, the Cardinals showed resilience and determination, setting their season record to 3-1.
