Batesville, IN — The City of Batesville will be hosting the annual Tree Lighting ceremony on Friday, November 27 this year, but it will be different than in the past. Due to the pandemic, there will be no parade this year, and participants are asked to stay in their vehicles. The tree will still be front and center in the Batesville Bike Park and those that would like to view are asked to park in the surrounding parking lot. The event will start at 6 pm with two opportunities to tune in to listen. You can tune in to Country 103.9 WRBI or watch from the comfort of your home on the City’s Facebook page.
After the Tree Lighting, the community is encouraged to head out to Liberty Park for the grand opening of the Holiday Lights at Liberty. Santa will be at the entrance to wave to the kiddos, and adults too, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Citizens are encouraged to bring a toy for Buddy the Elf, who will be on-site to fill Santa’s sack with toys for Batesville area children in need.
