(Greensburg, IN) — Three juveniles are facing charges following a vehicle pursuit that started in the City of Greensburg early Thursday.
Greensburg Police say an officer spotted a car that was being driven erratically at a high rate of speed and saw the driver blow thru a traffic light.
The officer used his lights and sirens to try and pull the car but the driver kept going, and that’s when the chase began.
Units from Greensburg and the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office chased the vehicle into the southwestern part of the county, where the driver went off the road and into a field on the 3,000 block of County Road 200 and into a field.
Police say the driver left the vehicle and fled the scene but was arrested following a short foot chase.
The two passengers in the vehicle were arrested without incident.
The driver is facing preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle (Level 6 felony); Possession of Marijuana (Class B misdemeanor), and Illegal Possession of Alcohol by a Minor (Class C misdemeanor).
The passengers of the vehicle are being preliminarily charged with Possession of Marijuana (Class B misdemeanor), and Illegal Possession of Alcohol by a Minor (Class C misdemeanor).
