SOUTHEASTERN IN — Three local counties experienced an unemployment rate drop last month.
According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Franklin and Decatur counties were tied for the lowest jobless rate in the area at 3 percent.
Franklin County was at 3.1 percent in July, while Decatur County came in at 3.3 that month.
Ripley County was at 3.1 percent in August, which was down from 3.3 the prior month.
Dearborn County’s unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.4 percent.
All four counties are below the state average of 4 percent.
