(Batesville, IN) – With Cherry Thing-A-Ling weekend approaching, Batesville Main Street is once again preparing to welcome visitors by hosting a Hospitality Center for guests waiting in line during the annual event.
In a message to local businesses, Amy Pretzer, Executive Director of Batesville Main Street, said the city sees a major influx of guests during Thing-A-Ling weekend.
“This city grows so much that weekend with guests traveling from all over,” Pretzer wrote. “We want to make them feel welcomed and be able to share with them the great things our downtown has for them to do while they are here or businesses to come back and support.”
Pretzer said the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce is again providing space to host the Hospitality Center on Saturday and Sunday of Thing-A-Ling week.
Batesville Main Street is collecting promotional materials from local businesses — including coupons, advertisements, and other items — to include in giveaway bags that will be handed out to guests in line.
“We are gathering items to hand out to the guests in line,” Pretzer wrote. “Things like coupons, advertisements for your businesses etc. We are placing them in a bag to hand out in the line and encourage people to stay, shop, dine and return for another visit.”
Pretzer said organizers plan to create 500 bags, and businesses can contribute anywhere from 10 to 500 items, depending on what they would like to provide.
“If you have an ad, coupon or anything you would like to include in the bags we would love to add those,” she wrote. “The number is up to you.”
Businesses interested in contributing items can contact Batesville Main Street. Pretzer also offered to pick up materials directly from participating businesses.
“Please let me know if you would like to provide anything and I will gladly come pick them up from you,” she wrote.
