Thefts of Ford trucks spike

Indianapolis, In. — Law enforcement agencies are sending a word of caution to the owners of Ford F-250 & F-350 trucks- There is a high demand for your vehicle, whole or in parts on the black market. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officials say in recent months thefts of the trucks have spiked.

Police the parts, including diesel engines, are very easy to sell on the black market.

Officials say always keep your vehicle locked, no valuables inside and never the keys in the vehicle or ignition.

Because Ford does not equip vehicles with the OnStar system police suggest getting a GPS tracking device.
