Teresa Schwab

Teresa V. Schwab, of Sunman, was born on December 5, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Marie Greble Szilagji.  On April 7, 1951 she married Francis A. Schwab.  Teresa was a homemaker, and farmer’s wife who was multi-talented – as a seamstress, florist, and cook, just to name a few.  She was a member of St. Paul in New Alsace and then St. Louis Catholic Church where she played the organ and sang for many years.  Teresa was known as the “cookie lady” by the Sunman Fire Department and she also loved to read.  On Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the age of 86, Teresa passed away at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. 

 

Those surviving who will cherish Teresa’s memory include her husband of over 65 years, Francis; children, Victoria (George) Werner of Cincinnati, Roberta (Steve) Huster of Sunman, David (Janice) Schwab of Cincinnati, Susan (Larry) Ehler of St. Leon, and Jo Ann (Tom) Gutapfel of Sunman; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Josie Cornyn and Helen O’Dea. 

 

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 9 a.m. till Mass time of 11 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville.
