Ali Rudicil, a member of the Blooming Grove Tigers club, has been part of various educational institutions like Learning Tree, BES, FCMS, and finally, FCHS. Her mother, Jennifer Caudill, has been a guiding force throughout her 4-H journey. One of her fondest memories is attending 4-H camp, where she honed her sewing skills, sparking her passion for creative projects. For first-year members, Ali recommends being mindful of taking on manageable projects, highlighting the importance of pacing oneself across the years to explore diverse interests fully. Ali’s dedication and talent have earned her several special honors, including being a Grand Champion in Archery for consecutive years and achieving recognition at the state level for her sewing and quilting projects. Amelia Crawford, a member of the Oxford Pike Pioneers club, has attended schools such as St. Michael’s and Oldenburg Academy. Her parents, Jim and Jane Crawford, have been supportive throughout her 4-H journey. One of her cherished memories includes participating in Round-up at Purdue University, an experience that opened her eyes to new perspectives. Amelia values the character-building aspect of 4-H, especially the encouragement to try new projects, which she believes has contributed significantly to her personal growth. For first-year members, Amelia advises embracing new projects wholeheartedly, emphasizing the transformative power of stepping out of one’s comfort zone. Angus Lonergan, a member of the East Franklin Flyers club, attended St. Michael School and Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception. His parents, Cameron, and Tanya Lonergan, have played a significant role in his 4-H journey. Angus fondly recalls his favorite 4-H memory, waking up early with his siblings to care for their animals, which taught him valuable lessons in responsibility, leadership, patience, and hard work. For first-year members, Angus advises dedicating ample time to their animals and projects, emphasizing the rewarding payoff in the end. In 4-H, Angus has achieved blue ribbons in both sheep and swine categories.

Ashlee Welsh, a member of the Highland Hoosiers 4-H Club, was homeschooled and is the daughter of Amanda & Jason Welsh. Ashlee emphasizes the importance of having fun in 4-H, as emphasized in her advice for first-year members is simple: Just have fun! Ashlee has received a Reserve Grand Ribbon as a special honor and achievement in 4-H. Her mother serves as an inspiration to her. Ashlee’s hobbies and activities include dance. Audrey French, a member of the Udder Cream Fang club and a student at Franklin County High School, is the daughter of Ryan and Lisa French. Her favorite 4-H memory is winning dairy goat showmanship for the first time, which boosted her confidence significantly. The best lesson she learned from 4-H is that hard work pays off, especially when raising livestock and seeing the results of genetic improvements in the show ring. For first-year members, Audrey advises asking as many questions as needed since there are knowledgeable people in various interests within 4-H.

She has achieved numerous honors and awards in 4-H, including multiple championships in dairy goat showmanship and other categories like gift wrapping, pets, veterinary science, and more. Audrey finds inspiration in Emmie Sperandeo, a woman traveling alone to work on ranches, showcasing that starting in agriculture with no background as a woman is possible through hard work and dedication. Her hobbies include showing dairy goats, spending time with loved ones, gardening, baking, and horseback riding. Audrey plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College for diagnostic medical sonography in obstetrics and gynecology while continuing to raise and show dairy goats.

 

 

 

Ben Becker, a member of the East Franklin Flyers club and a student at Franklin County High School, is the son of William and Kizzy Becker. His favorite 4-H memory is learning to shoot a rifle and shotgun in shooting sports, and the best thing he gained from 4-H is trying new things. His advice to first-year members is also to explore new activities. Ben has achieved multiple grand champion awards in 4-H.

Ben finds inspiration in his grandma Smith, who helps kids make baskets each year and has a knack for finding unique items. He has been making baskets with her since he was in mini 4-H. His hobbies and activities include football, baseball, participating in FCHS bleacher bums, joining JAG, spending time with friends, and working. In the future, Ben plans to attend Wabash College to play football and earn a degree in economics and business.

 

 

 

 

Branson Galyen, a member of the Whitcomb Booster Club and a graduate of Franklin County High School, is the son of Laura and Marty Galyen. His favorite 4-H memory is winning Grand Champion in pottery with his chip and dip bowl, even getting an offer to sell it to the judge.

His advice to others is to take on as many projects as possible. Branson has achieved Grand Champion in pottery twice and has taken his projects to the state fair. His inspiration comes from his Grandpa, who introduced him to pottery. Branson’s hobbies include football, baseball, basketball, fishing, and spending time with friends. In the future, he plans to enter the workforce.

 

 

 

 

 

Brayton Hofer, a member of the Blooming Grove Tigers, attended Franklin County High School. His parents are Tim and Tami Hofer. Brayton’s favorite 4-H memory includes showing and helping others. His advice to first-year members would be to work hard on your projects. Brayton has gotten to know many other 4-Hers from around the county. His dad inspires him to work hard and to the best of his abilities. He likes working on and showing trucks. His future plans include working on the family farm.

 

 

 

Chloe Meier, part of the Oxford Pike Pioneers club and a student at Union County High School, is the daughter of Greg and Megan Meier. Her cherished 4-H memory is winning Champion Extra Light-Weight Barrow, and the best thing she gained from 4-H is self-confidence. For first-year members, Chloe advises enjoying their time in 4-H as it passes quickly. She has achieved honors like being a Champion Extra Light-Weight Barrow winner and having numerous projects go to the State Fair, including being a Division Champion in String Art.

Chloe draws inspiration from her mom for all she does for the family. Her hobbies and activities include participation in Student Council, National Honors Society, and School Musical. Daphne Stokes, a member of the East Franklin Fliers club, has attended Mt. Carmel School, St. Michael School, and FCHS. She is the daughter of Holly and Joseph Stokes. One of her cherished 4-H memories is mentoring her cousins and seeing their joy in receiving a ribbon. The best thing Daphne gained from 4-H is a strong work ethic. Her advice for first-year members is to enjoy their time in 4-H while it lasts.

Daphne has achieved several special honors and achievements, including being on the honor roll all four years of high school and maintaining a GPA above 3.5 throughout. Ella Lecher, a member of the Super Kids club and a student at Batesville High School, is the daughter of Michael and Christy Lecher. Her favorite 4-H memory stems from two years ago when she achieved 1st place in her class at the 4-H competition. Although she didn’t win Grand or Reserve Champion, the pride her parents showed made it a truly amazing experience. Over her 10 years in 4-H, Ella values the memories and friendships she’s gained the most.

For first-year members, Ella advises keeping a light-hearted approach and focusing on having fun and making memories. She also encourages taking away meaningful lessons from each year to improve for the future. Ella’s special honors and achievements include being accepted into Purdue University for the vet tech program and completing the Cosmetology Program at the South Eastern Career Center this year. Her inspiration comes from her hardworking father, who taught her everything about animals and ignited her passion for them. He’s been her biggest supporter in all her endeavors, leading her to pursue Veterinary school. Outside of 4-H and academics, Ella enjoys activities like cleaning, shopping, and photography. Her future plans involve attending Purdue to earn her degree in Veterinary Technology and continuing her journey of passion and dedication to animals.

 

 

 

 

Faith Coffey, a member of the Oxford Pike Pioneers Club and a student at Union County High School, is the daughter of Angie Brown. One of Gracie’s favorite 4-H memories is attending horse camp with her club, where she formed lasting friendships and bonded with her animal. Her advice for first-year members is to branch out and connect with new people, as it can lead to valuable friendships and connections. One of his favorite 4-H memories is completing a project on canine diseases and winning a high ribbon. Grant values the memories of working on projects with his parents. Isaac Siedling is the son of Matt and Chelsea Siedling. He is part of the East Franklin Flyers club, attending Mt. Carmel, and is a 2024 graduate of Franklin County High School. One cherished memory from his time in 4-H is winning the Grand Champion Breeding Ewe. He loved spending time with friends during 4-H, helping each other with animal projects, and learning about different species. Isaac also enjoyed guiding his younger brother in the mini 4-H show, inspiring him to join regular 4-H.

His advice for newcomers is to immerse themselves in the barns, learn from friends, and participate in activities. Through 4-H, Isaac achieved various honors, including Champion Hereford Heifer and Grand Champion Breeding Ewe. Her favorite 4-H memory is getting to show in the Showman of Showman competition, and the best thing she gained from 4-H is the opportunity to get involved. Her special honors and achievements in 4-H include being the Senior Versatility Champion, Overall Highpoint winner, Grand Champion Showmanship, receiving the Outstanding Senior Mustanger award, and earning a trip for 4-H achievement. Izzy finds inspiration in her sister, Amelia, whom she considers a role model and the person she looks up to the most. Her favorite 4-H memories revolve around the overnight horse camps and non-competitive demonstrations during fair week. Laura Schwegman, a member of the Superkids 4-H Club, has attended the Batesville School Corporation and Ivy Tech Community College, is the daughter of Michael and Amanda Schwegman. Her favorite 4-H memory was running through the obstacle course with her friends a few years ago. The best thing she gained from 4-H is her work ethic and motivation to do her best. Laura advises first-year members to do as many projects as you can and don’t wait until the week before to do them all.

Laura is inspired by her late Grandma Mary. Despite never meeting her, she is highly praised and Laura strives to be like her. She was great at cooking, baking, sewing, she was always there for her family, and very involved in the church. Looking forward, Laura plans to work at Dr. Dooley Eyecare as an optical assistant, teaching people how to put contacts in, making lenses for glasses, and more. Her plan is to work at Dr. Dooley Eyecare for a while and take a break from school before finishing out her associate’s degree.

 

 

 

Lillian Ralph, a member of the Whitcomb Boosters 4-H Club, attended Franklin County High School and is the daughter of Beth Siebert and Douglas Ralph. Her favorite 4-H memory is looking back and seeing her progress and accomplishments throughout the years, which reflects her growth and dedication. His special honors and achievements include winning Grand and Reserve Champion Boer Goats, receiving a Kindness award, being part of the National Technical Honor Society for graphic design at the White Water Career Center for two years, and earning the Star Chapter Farmer Award for FFA. Matt Kuntz, a member of the Super Kids club and a student at Batesville High School, is the son of Bill and Geraldine Kuntz. Moorea Nobbe, a member of the Brookville Lakers 4-H Club, attended Franklin County High School, and is the daughter of Stacey and Brian Nobbe. Her favorite 4-H memory is learning how to decorate cakes. Her best thing gained was learning independence and taking initiative on her projects. Similarly, she advises first-year members to not procrastinate on projects and to take projects that they truly enjoy.

Some of Moorea’s honors and achievements include Grand Champion in Speech in her 8th-grade year and Reserve Grand Champion on Cakes in her 8th-grade and freshman years. Moorea is inspired by Mrs. Schneider due to her passion and dedication to science. Moorea’s future plans include attending IU Indy to major in biology on a pre-med track to eventually become a plastic surgeon.

 

 

 

 

Porter Dorrel, a member of the East Franklin Flyers and a student at Franklin County High School, is the son of Dustan & Melissa Dorrel. His favorite 4-H memory is winning Grand Champion Barrow at the County Fair, a goal he had been working towards throughout his 4-H career. Porter emphasizes the life lessons learned through 4-H livestock projects, including skills like time management, dependability, and teamwork. His advice to first-year members is to pursue what inspires them, as there is much to gain from working hard in areas of passion.

Porter has achieved multiple Best of Show, Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, Champion, and Reserve Champion titles at both Indiana State and County levels while exhibiting various animals like hogs, sheep, poultry, dairy goats, and beef. He finds inspiration in his family, many of whom have also raised and shown livestock, showcasing their success and determination. Outside of school, Porter spends most of his time in the barn with his livestock projects or playing baseball. Looking ahead, Porter plans to continue his education in Aviation school with the goal of becoming an agricultural pilot. After completing his training, he aims to work as an aerial applicator and flight instructor, combining his passion for aviation and agriculture.

 

 

Savannah Noble, a member of the Blooming Grove 4-H Club, has attended BES, FCMS, and FCHS. She is the daughter of Brad and Rebecca Noble. One of her favorite 4-H memories involves going to 4-H camp, rafting, and making new friends from different counties.
