Authorities say Josue Arnai Navarro, 27, was taken into custody after deputies reviewed camera footage that showed a suspect holding a firearm. Investigators say Navarro was also captured on video receiving the gun from another individual. The case began after reports of gunfire near the Candlelight Plaza area.
Navarro was arrested on charges that include criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. Investigators also say he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court, and that he was using a false last name when he was identified. Immigration and Customs Enforcement later placed a hold on him, meaning he could be detained for immigration enforcement action even if he posts bond or resolves the local case.
No injuries were reported in connection with the shots-fired complaints.
