North Vernon, IN — The North Vernon Police Department is investigating several instances of Theft of Catalytic converters off of vehicles. These thefts have occurred at businesses on State Road 3 and State Road 7 North.
Police believe that the locations that are being targeted are locations where vehicles were parked out of sight or in darker areas. They suggest parking vehicles in well-lit areas or in a secured building. Police officials are also urging everyone to be aware of their surroundings and watch for suspicious activity. If you see things such as people crawling under vehicles with handheld saws or hear noises like metal being cut from under a vehicle, report it immediately.
