(St. Leon, IN) – The Sunman-Dearborn School Board received an update on Phase 2 of the Building Project at last week’s board meeting.
The project price tag is an estimated total of $32.5 million in construction costs.
Nearly half of that amount is for various mechanical replacements and upgrades at school facilities.
It also includes a full refurbishment of the Performing Art Center; the front driveway at East Central High School; the Trojan Cafe, which is a student-run coffee shop; several upgraded indoor and outdoor learning spaces, and some improvements to athletic facilities, including installation of a turf soccer field and a golf practice facility.
The board developed a master plan several years ago in order to be able to complete both phases of the building project, without a property tax increase.
Superintendent Andrew Jackson appeared on last Friday’s edition of WRBI’s The Daily Pod and addressed Phase 2 of the Building Project. You can listen to the full interview here.
