The Salt-Pipe Creek Watershed Project is hosting a stream workshop virtually over Zoom today. The workshop title, “Stream Workshop: Stabilization Methods & Permitting” will be from 1 to 3 pm.
The agenda:
• 1 pm to 2 pm – Streambank Stabilization Methods with Scott Wagner, PE, NRCS Agricultural Engineer, and Mike Cox, PE, NRCS State Engineer
• 2 pm to 3 pm – Indiana Waterways Inquiry Tool: How to use the tool to determine what projects may require a permit through IDEM or IDNR with Alysson Oliger, IDNR Compliance Coordinator
Streambank erosion is a major problem in the area. Many of the streams come up quickly and carry a lot of power. Participate in this workshop to learn techniques to stabilize the banks and what activities may require a permit.
