(St. Leon, IN) – The Sunman-Dearborn School Board has approved the hiring of Cynthia Stonehill as interim principal at Sunman Elementary for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
Current principal Pamela Dixon’s resignation is effective at the end of classes this Friday.
Stonehill, who is a recent newlywed, used to go by the last name of Morton.
She is a former Sunman Elementary School principal and served several years in the Sunman-Dearborn Schools Central Office as the corporation’s Director of Support Services and Student Services before her retirement.
Stonehill returned to Sunman-Dearborn this year as a special education teacher.
Superintendent Andrew Jackson says the school corporation is looking for someone to permanently fill the principal’s position at Sunman Elementary.
