Stephen David Rupp, 49, Milan

Stephen David Rupp, age 49, of Milan, Indiana passed away early Monday morning March 31, 2025 at his beloved home following a courageous battle with metastatic cancer.

Born October 13, 1975 in Cincinnati, Ohio he was the son of the late Randall D. & Rhoda L. (Huddleston) Rupp.

Steve graduated from Purcell Marian in 1994.  After several years employed by GM, and Leaf Guard Gutters, he decided he could do more for less, which led him to opening his own Gutter business in 2011.  He quickly gained a reputation as a ‘gutter installing machine.’ His work was meticulous, and he was committed to mentoring others, if you showed up willing to listen, Steve was ready to teach.

Steve was an avid golfer, gambler, coach, sports enthusiast – with his favorites being the Bengals, Reds, and Ohio State.  He loved traveling with his family and spending quality time with his vast circle of best friends.  To know Steve was to love Steve and his larger-than-life personality.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife Carrie (Handley) Rupp, sons Carson Rupp and Ethan Villegas, brothers Randall (Paige) Rupp, Kevin (Katie) Rupp, Nicholas (Amanda) Rupp; nieces & nephews, Morgan (Aaron, and little one), Shelby (Brandon), Natalie, Cameron, Quinn and Darby and godson Rupp, in laws Ken and Denise Handley, and grandma Ethel Handley, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.  And of course, his best buddies, pups Meatloaf, Cassius and Burrow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Rene, brother-in-law, Chad, and Uncle Billy.

Family & friends may visit from 4 until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.

Rev. Vincent P. Lampert will officiate the Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 5, 2025, 10:00 A.M., at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 145 E. St. Michaels Blvd, Brookville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Stephen Rupp Fund at any First Financial Bank or the Chad Handley Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Franklin County Community Foundation.
