INDIANAPOLIS – College students and recent graduates have the opportunity to apply for paid internship opportunities for the 2015 legislative session.
Selected interns work directly with state legislators and staff at the Indiana Statehouse, located in downtown Indianapolis during the General Assembly.
State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) says the internship is a way to gain work experience while actively participating in the legislative process.
“In today’s competitive job market, the skills and knowledge that the Senate internship program offers are extremely valuable,” Leising said.
Internships relate to various fields of study including legislative, information technology, legal, communications, policy and visual communications. Benefits include a $700 biweekly stipend, scholarship opportunities, networking and earned academic credits.
Leising said more information and applications for full-time, spring internships can be found online by visiting www.in.gov/s42 and clicking on the “Get INvolved” tab.
