State reaches over 2,000 cases per day over the weekend

Statewide — The Indiana State Department of Health has reported that 6,478 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 over the weekend. A total of 147,582 Indiana residents have tested positive for the coronavirus. To date, 1,555,437 individual tests have been reported to ISDH at a 9.5% positive rate and 72 new deaths were reported for a total of 3,704 Hoosiers have died across the state. 

The state broke its record for cases reported in a 48-hour span from Thursday to Saturday, though the total does include about 300 cases whose reporting was delayed due to a technical issue over the past few days.

Dearborn County has a total of 895 cases and 28 deaths reported (up 61 new cases), Decatur County has a total of 493 positive cases and 39 deaths (up 9 new cases), Franklin County has 359 positive cases and 25 deaths (up 23 new cases), and Ripley County has 413 positive cases and 8 deaths (up 11 new cases). Locally, this is an increase of 104 new positive cases.
