State reaches highest COVID-19 positives in 24-hour span

Statewide — The State has reported the highest number of positive cases of COVID-19 in a 24-hour span since early March. However, the number represents results from 36,552 tests, which is also the most to date.

The Indiana State Department of Health has reported that 2,880 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 on Thursday. A total of 155,246 Indiana residents have tested positive for the coronavirus. To date, 1,594,365 individual tests have been reported to ISDH at a 9.7% positive rate and 42 new deaths were reported for a total of 3,831 Hoosiers have died across the state.

Dearborn County has a total of 949 cases and 28 deaths reported (up 21 new cases), Decatur County has a total of 504 positive cases and 39 deaths (up 5 new cases), Franklin County has 372 positive cases and 25 deaths (up 6 new cases), and Ripley County has 441 positive cases and 8 deaths (up 14 new cases). Locally, this is an increase of 46 new positive cases.
