The Brookville American-Democrat is reporting that the stretch of U.S. 52 between Brookville and Cedar Grove could likely reopen to traffic on May 1.
Local drivers have had to make adjustments to their commute since April 2 when the road was closed due to slide repairs just east of Orschell’s curve.
Roadwork got underway on April 14 after heavy rain hit the area causing the road to drop almost a foot or more.
State highway crews are repairing the portion of road with a process called soil nailing. A wall will be poured and the road will be re-paved prior to the estimated reopening date.
