(Brookville, IN) – St. Michael held off St. Louis in 8th grade girls basketball 37-20 Wednesday night in Brookville.
Claire Baker hit a three-pointer to start the scoring for the Cardinals.
Lucy Brelege and Ellie Weberding were aggressive on defensive and caused a number of Trojan turnovers.
Lydia Dwyer battled through an injury and scored five points as well as contributed on defense.
Kristen Obermeyer played every position in the St. Louis zone defense.
Cassie Meneses boxed out, grabbed rebounds and played great help side defense to prevent easy shots at the rim.
Baker scored 12 in the fourth quarter and a Cardinal rally that period fell short.
St. Louis’ next game is Monday at East Central. Tipoff is 5:30.
