BATESVILLE, IN — Students at St. Louis School won four of the top five spots in the recent VFW-sponsored Patriot’s Pen writing contest.

The patriotic-themed contest was open to several local schools.

The winners from St. Louis were:

  • 1st Place: Kathryn Mack
  • 2nd Place: Ava Hollins

Each year, junior high students in Mrs. Kyna Ritz’s Literature class at St. Louis School write a patriotic-themed essay for the class.
