Batesville, in. — Recently, Alternative Learning Program students from St. Louis School (SLS) presented Rube Goldberg machines. This year’s task was to pour a bowl of cereal for Rube’s 30th anniversary of the competition.
SLS had 7 teams, an all-time high participation rate.
The 3rd and 4th grades participated as apprentices and did a wonderful job. Grades 5-8 competed against one another with one grade level having two teams. The challenge of this task was that ALL machines were in the same room, so students had to work wisely and secretively in order to be successful.
Congratulations to the 8th grade for sweeping the house of awards. Not only did they win 1st place overall, but they were the 2018 Rube Goldberg Machine Contest Professor Butts’ Creative Spark, Spirit of Hilarious Invention, and Helping Hand Teamwork winners.
All the teams did an AWESOME job of creating some super engineered machines.
