In a spirited season opener, the St. Louis 8th grade boys basketball team secured a decisive 28-15 victory over Jac-Cen-Del. The Cardinals, showing a bit of early-season rust, trailed narrowly at halftime, 10-8. However, a reinvigorated Cardinals team hit the court after the break, igniting an 11-4 scoring run in the third quarter to take a 19-14 lead. They then maintained momentum, closing out the game with a dominant 9-1 run.
Leading the Cardinals’ charge was Luke Richardson, who posted 11 points. Ryan McGuire followed with 7 points, Cam Anderson added 6, while Hunter Young and Grant Hartwell each contributed 2 points to round out the scoring.
