The Lady Cardinals had a match-up here at SLS against South Dearborn last night. The game started off as a very close contest, with the Cards going into halftime up 10-8. The team locked in on defense, not allowing any points during the entire second half of play, with the final score being a 22-8 Cardinals win!
Ellie Weberding and Kristen Obermeyer set the tone for the defense from the beginning of the game, causing 5 turnovers in the first quarter. Cassie Meneses scored her first points of the season, sinking a mid-range jump shot from 15 feet. Lucy Brelage provided an energetic spark and hustle off the bench, intercepting passes from the Knights all game. Lydia Dwyer and Claire Baker were an unstoppable tag team on the offensive side of the court, with a combined 20 points scored. Lydia ended with 7, and Claire with 13. The team plays another home game on Monday night against St. Mary’s Catholic at 6 pm. Come out and cheer your Lady Cardinals to victory!
