St. Louis 7th and 8th Grade Basketball Split Wins with Rushville

Rushville, IN – The St. Louis Cardinals 7th and 8th grade boys basketball team travelled to Rushville on Monday night, awaiting a battle with the Lions.

As the 7th grade got things started on Monday, the Lions came out blazing hot. Despite Cam Walke’s 9 points and Evan Jennings 7 points, the size of the Lions proved to be too much for the Cardinals to handle.

The 7th grade was defeated by a score of 37-16.

The 8th grade, however, was a different story. Both teams played well on the defensive end in the first quarter, but the second quarter was the momentum swing the Cardinals needed. St. Louis went on an 11-2 run, extending the halftime lead to 13-2. The Cardinals continued to play great defense and held the lead 22-6 after the third quarter.

The Cardinals were led in scoring by Cam Anderson with 11 points, Luke Richardson had 10 points, Ryan McGuire had 7 points, and both Hunter Young and Declan Meyer had 2 points, respectively. With this 32-11 victory, the 8th grade Cardinals improve to 6-1 on the season!
