The Reds shut out the Braves in Atlanta 1-0 last night in a makeup game from a July 24 rainout. The win counts as a sweep for Cincinnati after the Reds won the first two games of the series in July. Nick Martinez pitched seven scoreless innings of two-hit baseball, striking out five and allowing just three base runners. At one point, Martinez retired 17 Braves in a row, and ended up retiring 21 of the 24 batters he faced. The lone run of the game came off the bat of Ty France, whose RBI double plated TJ Friedl. The Reds open a three-game series tonight in St. Louis against the Cardinals. Coverage begins at 7:15 on 103.9 WRBI.
