Oldenburg Academy boys soccer defeated Rising Sun 2-1 in overtime in Sectional 44 play at Jac-Cen-Del Monday evening. Connor Holder and Adam Weber scored the Twisters goals. OA will meet South Ripley in one semifinal tomorrow evening at JCD. The Raiders bested the host Eagles 5-1 in opening round play Monday evening.
Oldenburg volleyball took two from Franklin County. The varsity Twisters won in three sets (25-15, 25-15, 25-15) while OA downed the Wildcats in the JV match in two.
Batesville Middle School girls cross country finished seventh, while Greensburg came in 31st in the 50-team field at the State Middle School Cross Country Meet at Terre Haute over the weekend. Pirates 8th grader Maria Scholle placed ninth individually and garnered All-State honors with a time of 11:22. Ana Shane was the top girls runner for the Bulldogs. In the boys race, Batesville finished 22nd in the 63-team field. Cael Luhman paced BMS with a 61st individual finish. Elliott O’Sullivan was the top boys runner for Greensburg.
Indianapolis Colts kicker Spencer Shrader will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. Shrader suffered a torn ACL and a torn MCL when he was hit on an extra point attempt in the second quarter of the Colts blowout win at home over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

The defending Eastern Conference champions tip off the NBA preseason tonight when the Pacers visit the Minnesota Timberwolves. Indiana will open the regular season on October 23 at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder in a Finals rematch.
