Congratulations are in order for several area individual runners who qualified for Saturday’s IHSAA cross country boys and girls regional races at Shelbyville and Evansville. They include Greensburg’s Alaina Bedel, Tori Gauck, Joe Hawkins, Xavier Cassis, Chase Tekulve and Quinton Walker; Josie Wenning, Maddie Ryan, Adam Dennis, Santiago Schutte and Carson Hartwell from Oldenburg Academy; Milan’s Hannah Cooney; South Ripley’s Elizabeth McKittrick, Virginia Minch, Mason Bascom, Dillon Cloney, Luke Bradley and Jordan Davis, and Dorothy Robbins and Norah Amberger from North Decatur. Also qualifying were the Batesville, East Central and Milan boys teams and girls squads from East Central and Batesville. The top 15 individuals from non‐advancing teams and the first five qualifying teams from each sectional go on to regional competition.
Indiana University will host ESPN’s College Game Day on Saturday before the 13th ranked and 7-0 Hoosiers entertain Washington. It will be the second time in program history that IU has hosted Game Day. Kickoff at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington is at Noon on Saturday.
Monday Night Football featured a doubleheader. In the first game, the Baltimore Ravens knocked off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 41-31, and it was the Arizona Cardinals getting past the Los Angeles Chargers 17-15.
