15-year-old Nash King of Batesville has been chosen to attend the USA Swimming National Select Camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado from  January 9-12, 2025. King will be one of 52 age 15 to 16 male swimmers invited. He swims for Oldenburg Academy and with the Cincinnati Marlins. King is also with the Batesville Swim Team during the summer.

Greensburg is ranked 15th in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association girls’ preseason poll. The Pirates of coach Jason Simpson won a sectional title last season and finished with a 21-5 record.

Reds second baseman Jonathan India and shortstop Elly De La Cruz have been named Silver Slugger Award finalists. The Silver Slugger is presented each year to baseball’s best offensive performers. The winners will be announced on November 12.

Former Reds rightfielder Dave Parker is one of eight candidates on the ballot for selection to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Classic Baseball Era Committee. That committee will meet December 8 to consider candidates for induction into Cooperstown. Results of the committee’s vote will be released that evening.

Indiana has cracked the Top 10 in this week’s AP college football poll. The Hoosiers, who are 9-0 for the first time in program history, move up five spaces to the #8 spot in this week’s rankings. Notre Dame is at #10.

The Pacers topped the Mavericks 134-127 in Dallas last night. Indiana improves to 3-4.

The Bengals will play back-to-back prime time games. After meeting the Ravens in Baltimore Thursday night, the Bengals game next Sunday, November 17 against the Chargers in Los Angeles has been flexed from a 4:25 start time to an 8:20 kickoff for Sunday Night Football. The Colts game at the New York Jets was originally scheduled for Sunday Night Football in Week 11 but has been flexed out of that spot.

On Monday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-24 in overtime. KC remains undefeated at 8-0.

The New Orleans Saints have fired head coach Dennis Allen. The Saints were 18-25 over parts of three seasons under Allen. New Orleans started this year 2-0 but has dropped seven straight. Associate head coach and special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi takes over an interim basis.
