Batesville rolled over Jac-Cen-Del 55-19 in a girls basketball game heard last night on WRBI. The Bulldogs held the Eagles to two points in the second half. Batesville’s Maddie Haskamp led all scorers with 21 points while teammate Sophie Gesell added 12. JCD was led by Kelsey Borgman’s 8 points.

Coming up today, Class 3A #1 Greensburg welcomes in Seymour. Coverage of that game begins around 1:15 this afternoon on WRBI. In other girls action around the area, South Ripley is at East Central, Batesville visits Connersville, Class 1A #16 North Decatur plays at Knightstown, Milan goes to New Washington, and Oldenburg Academy travels to Henryville.

Franklin County heads to South Dearborn in boys basketball tonight on WRBI. Coverage begins around 7:15. Elsewhere, Greensburg is at Yorktown and South Ripley entertains Rising Sun.

Ohio topped Ball State 42-21 in college football yesterday. The Cardinals finish the season at 3-9.

Coming up today, Purdue visits Indiana in the Old Oaken Bucket game, Notre Dame is at USC, Louisville goes to Kentucky, and UC is home against TCU.

The Detroit Pistons hammered the Pacers 130-106 in NBA Cup play in Indianapolis last night. The Pacers will be back action tomorrow in Memphis against the Grizzlies. WRBI coverage begins at 3 pm.  

In NFL Black Friday action, the Kansas City Chiefs got past the Las Vegas Raiders 19-17. KC improves to 11-1 while Vegas drops to 2-10.

The Chicago Bears fired head coach and former Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus on Friday, one day after botching a timeout situation in a loss at Detroit. The Bears allowed the clock to run down while trailing the Lions 23-20, which prevented a potential tying field goal or winning touchdown. Chicago was 14-32 in two-plus seasons under Eberflus. Bears offensive coordinator Thomas Brown has been named interim coach.

The Indianapolis Colts and the Irsay family have announced a $1 million investment to make girls high school flag football an IHSAA-sanctioned sport. Twenty-seven schools around the state currently participate. One hundred schools must compete while in “emerging sport” status before it can become eligible as a fully sanctioned IHSAA sport.

On the field, the Colts visit the New England Patriots tomorrow. And the Bengals entertain the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC North matchup. Both games kickoff at 1:00.
