Whiteland shut out host East Central 2-0 in Class 4A softball sectional action heard last night on WRBI. The Trojans finish the season at 16-10.
In 3A action at Batesville, Franklin County rolled over South Dearborn 16-1 in 5 innings in the opener. The Wildcats scored seven times in both the 2nd and 5th innings…And it was Jennings County over Greensburg 4-3 in the nightcap. The Pirates led 3-0 going into the bottom of the 7th before the Panthers came off the mat and scored all four of their runs to advance to the tomorrow night’s championship game against Franklin County.
At the 1A sectional at Tri, the host Titans run ruled North Decatur 13-3.
In 1A sectional play at Rising Sun, it was Milan over the host Shiners 3-1. The Indians will face Hauser in tomorrow night’s championship game.
Franklin County takes on tenth ranked Batesville in Class 3A baseball sectional action this evening at Jennings County. WRBI airtime is 5:15.
Batesville’s Ella King won the Lawrence Central track and field regional championship in the shot put last night. King advances to next Saturday’s state finals with a throw of 41 feet 5 inches.
The Pacers are one win away from the NBA Finals after topping the visiting New York Knicks 130-121 in Game Four of the Eastern Conference finals in a game heard last night on the Sports Voice. Tyrese Haliburton led the way for Indiana with a triple double. He scored a game high 32 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 15 assists. The Pacers take a commanding three games to one lead in the best of seven series heading into Game Five tomorrow night in New York.
The Reds beat the Royals 7-2 in Kansas City last night. Elly De La Cruz clubbed two massive home runs, both of which traveled more than 400 feet. Brady Singer pitched seven strong innings of two-run ball to get the win in his return to Kansas City. The Reds look to sweep the series with a win tonight.
