In boys basketball sectional semifinal action heard last night on the Sports Voice, Jennings County knocked off Batesville 71-46 in Class 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn. Senior Cade Kaiser, in his final game in a Bulldog uniform, led BHS with 27 points. Batesville ends the season at 14-10.

In the nightcap of our doubleheader, Milan held off Oldenburg 59-57 in Class 1A Sectional 60 on the Indians home court. Four Milan players scored in double digits, led by 14 a piece from Gabe Riehle and Micah Norman. Ethan Clark added 13 and John McKeown had 10 points. The Twisters Henry Wanstrath ended his high school career with 14 points. Teammate Adam Weber added 12. Milan has won five straight and takes a 12-12 record into tonight’s sectional championship game against Hauser. OA finishes at 14-10.

In other sectional semis involving local teams, South Ripley dumped Brown County 65-39 in Class 2A Sectional 45 at Southwestern (Hanover)North Decatur rallied to beat Waldron 60-52 in Class 1A Sectional 59 at Edinburgh. In the nightcap, the host Lancers ended South Decatur’s season 53-47. That sets up tonight’s title game between North Decatur and Edinburgh…And Whiteland eliminated East Central 59-33 in Class 4A Sectional 14 at Columbus East.

WRBI will bring you the Class 2A Sectional 45 championship game tonight, when South Ripley battles host Southwestern (Hanover). Coverage begins at 6:30 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app.

In college basketball, #18 Purdue was upset at unranked Illinois 88-80. The Boilermakers fall to 21-10 overall and 13-7 in the Big Ten.

Indiana plays it home finale this afternoon when the Hoosiers take on Ohio State. It will also be outgoing IU coach Mike Woodson’s last game at Assembly Hall. They’ll tip that one off at 3:45.

In the NBA, the Pacers and Hawks meet again tonight in Atlanta. Tipoff is at 7:30.

The Reds/San Francisco Giants Cactus League game in Goodyear yesterday afternoon was canceled. Cincinnati entertains the Arizona Diamondbacks this afternoon, and visits the Los Angeles Angels tomorrow. We’ll have Sunday’s game on 103.9 FM. Airtime is 3:55. Meanwhile, Hunter Greene will be the Reds Opening Day starting pitcher against the Giants on March 27 at Great American Ball Park. It will be Greene’s second Opening Day starting nod.
