The San Francisco Giants rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to beat the Reds 6-4 on Opening Day, as heard yesterday on WRBI. Cincinnati led 3-2 going into the 9th inning, but reliever Ian Gibaut gave up four runs and was tagged with the loss. The Pacers crushed the Washington Wizards 162-109 last night. Ten Pacers scored in double figures, led by Tyrese Haliburton’s game-high 29 points. Indiana improves to 43-30 with the win. The Pacers are back on the court tomorrow night at Oklahoma City. Coverage begins at 7:30 on the Sports Voice.
In college basketball, the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 tipped off last night. It was Alabama over BYU 113-88, and top seed Duke got by Arizona 100-93 in the West Region semifinals. Top seed Florida eliminated Maryland 87-71, and Texas Tech outgunned Arkansas 85-83 in the East Region semis.
Coming up tonight, the Purdue Boilemakers go up against Midwest top seed Houston at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Tipoff will be after 10:00 tonight. In the other Midwest Region semifinal in Indy, Kentucky faces Tennessee. In the South Region semis in Atlanta, Ole Miss takes on Michigan State and top seed Auburn battles Michigan.
