Congratulations to Jac-Cen-Del’s Blake Wagner and Kayleigh McIntosh from Milan, who garnered top honors in their respective sports in the final weekly ORVC Report for the ’24-25 school year…Wagner is the Baseball Player of the Week after he collected five hits, scored three runs, drove in three, and had a stolen base in four games last week for the Eagles…On the mound, Wagner gave up nine hits on five runs – three earned – over 14 innings and picked up two wins…McIntosh was named Softball Player of the Week. She had seven hits, scored six times, homered twice, doubled three times, knocked in three and scored six runs in five games for the Indians. It’s Game One of the NBA Finals tonight when the Indiana Pacers visit the Oklahoma City Thunder. Coverage begins at 8 p.m. on the Sports Voice.

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Reds 9-1 in downtown Cincinnati in a game heard yesterday afternoon on WRBI. Andrew Abbott gave up five runs on seven hits over six innings and was tagged with his first loss of the year. The Brewers have now won 12 consecutive series over the Reds. Cincinnati is off today before starting a three-game set at home tomorrow night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. You can hear all three games over the weekend on 103.9 FM.

Before yesterday’s game, the Reds signed lefthanded pitcher Wade Miley to a one-year Major League contract and placed Hunter Greene on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain. The team also transferred righthanded pitcher Rhett Lowder to the 60-day I-L.

Voluntary OTAs are just about done for the Indianapolis Colts. Those wrap up today ahead of mandatory minicamp, which begins next Tuesday. The Colts will then begin training camp in July.

The Indiana Fever are preparing to face the Chicago Sky for the second time this season. The last time they played, they waxed the Sky by 40-points, but that was with Caitlin Clark in the line-up. She is still listed as “out” with an injured quad muscle. The Fever are coming off a win over the Washington Mystics. Lexie Hull said after the win that the Fever need to keep playing like that as they sit 3-and-4 to start the season.

Indy Eleven picked up a much-needed victory last night in USL Championship action. The Boys in Blue defeated Birmingham Legion FC 1-0 off a sure-footed goal from Cam Lindley. It’s just Indy Eleven’s second win of the season as they sit third from the bottom of the USL Eastern Conference table.
