North Decatur 8th grade boys basketball clobbered Hauser 59-26 in the opening round of the Mid-Hoosier Conference Jr. High Tournament. The Chargers Troy Brown led all scorers with 26 points. Teammates Russ Gorrell and Davis Scripture added 13 and 12, respectively. North Decatur improves to 17-1 and advances to Saturday morning’s semifinal round.
The Indianapolis Colts could be losing someone from their coaching staff. According to ESPN, the New York Giants have requested to interview passing game coordinator Alex Tanney for their offensive coordinator vacancy. This comes after the Giants also requested an interview with Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter for the same role.
Linebackers coach Al Washington is leaving Notre Dame to join the Miami Dolphins. Washington was promoted earlier this month after serving as Notre Dame’s defensive line coach and will now make the jump to the NFL. The move follows another recent departure, with defensive backs coach Mike Mickens leaving for the Baltimore Ravens. Notre Dame now turns its attention to filling yet another key defensive position with the start of spring practice just a few weeks away.
