Batesville knocked off Franklin County 51-36 in boys basketball heard last night on WRBI. The Bulldogs improve to 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the EIAC; the Wildcats fall to 5-10 and 0-6. In other games, South Ripley goes to 15-0 after a 96-59 win at Milan…Brownstown Central downed Greensburg 68-55and North Decatur got past Morristown 45-43.

In the lone girls hoops game on the local schedule last night,  New Palestine outlasted East Central 42-38 in overtime.

Coming up in girls basketball this afternoon on the Sports Voice, Class 3A #1 Greensburg is at Batesville.  Coverage begins around 1:15 on 103.9 FM, wrbiradio.com and the WRBI app.

In other girls hoops action, North Decatur visits Lawrenceburg, Franklin County welcomes in Talawanda from nearby Oxford, Ohio, and South Decatur goes to Trinity Lutheran.

The IHSAA girls basketball sectional pairings will be announced tomorrow evening. WRBI coverage from the IHSAA Champions Radio Network begins at 5 p.m.

Batesville is at Connersville in boys basketball tonight on WRBI. Airtime from the Spartan Bowl will be around 7:15.

Elsewhere, Greensburg heads down State Road 3 to South Decatur, East Central is home against Indiana/Ohio state line rival Harrison, Jac-Cen-Del goes to Lawrenceburg and Franklin County entertains Northeastern.

11th ranked Purdue crushed #21 Michigan 91-64 in Big Ten college basketball tonight. The Boilermakers improve to 16-5 overall and 8-2 in the Big Ten.

The Indiana Hoosiers take on Maryland tomorrow afternoon in Bloomington. Tipoff is at Noon.

It is NFL conference championship weekend. Coming up tomorrow, Washington is at Philadelphia in the NFC, while Buffalo goes to Kansas City in the AFC title game.  The winners advance to Super Bowl 59 on February 9 in New Orleans.
