South Dearborn pulled away from East Central 58-36 in boys basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Knights Wyatt Adams erupted for 17 second half points to tally 19 in total, while teammate Scout Gray had 16. Liam Rogers led the Trojans with 16 points. SD improves to 10-3 overall and 2-2 in the EIAC while East Central drops to 6-8 and 2-1…Also last night, North Decatur slipped past Oldenburg Academy 52-45.
South Ripley entertains Southwestern (Hanover) in girls basketball tonight. Coverage begins at 5:45 on 103.9 FM and the WRBI App….Elsewhere, Batesville welcomes in Rushville; North Decatur is at Milan; East Central goes to Madison; and Jac-Cen-Del hosts Rising Sun.
East Central and Batesville square off in both the 7th and 8th grade championships games of the SEI Tournament tonight at St. Louis School. The 7th grade game tips off at 5:30 with the 8th grade contest to follow. Doors open at 4:45, and fans are highly encouraged to arrive early because of the smaller gym. Last year’s championships at Batesville Middle School were standing room only.
It was the Boston Celtics over the Indiana Pacers 119-104 in NBA action heard last night on the Sports Voice. Paskal Siakam recorded a double double: 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead Indiana. The Pacers are back in action tomorrow night at defending NBA champion Oklahoma City.
The Indiana Fever have released their 2026 basketball schedule. The season tips off at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday, May 9, with a matchup against the Dallas Wings. That’s also expected to feature the last four No. 1 draft picks: Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, and whomever the Wings select in the upcoming WNBA Draft.
North Carolina handed Notre Dame an 91-69 loss last night in college basketball. Sir Mohammed led the Fighting Irish with 14 points off the bench. It’s Notre Dame’s fifth loss in a row in ACC play. They hope to right the ship against Boston College on Saturday.
The NFL announced on Wednesday that its Scouting Combine will remain in Indianapolis in 2027 and ’28. The league’s single biggest pre-draft event has been held in Indy every year since 1987. This year’s combine is set for February 23 to March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
