Batesville Middle School Boys Basketball is advancing to the semifinal round of the SEI Tournament after completing a first round sweep of Jac-Cen-Del at home on Monday night. The 7th Grade Bulldogs rolled to a 46-11 victory. Otter Johnson led all scorers with 13 points and Colton Cox came up big off the bench, scoring 11 points. BMS 8th grade took down JCD 36-11. Logan Schneider led all scorers with 19 points, including 17 in the first half. The 19-0 Bulldogs face South Ripley in the semifinals tonight at Jac-Cen-Del.

The St Louis 7th grade boys basketball team defeated South Ripley 42-19 in the first round of the SEI Tournament. Nathaniel Fuentes led the Cardinals with 14 points, and Carter Meyer added 11. St. Louis plays crosstown rival and 14-6 Batesville in the semifinal round tonight in Osgood.

The Jac-Cen-Del Eagles head to Brookville to face the Franklin County Wildcats in boys basketball tonight on the Sports Voice. Coverage begins around 7:15 on 103.9 FM and the WRBI App.

Also on tonight’s boys roundball schedule, Milan is at Trinity Lutheran.

Coming up tonight in girls hoops, South Decatur is home against Edinburgh; Franklin County goes across the state line to Talawanda; Oldenburg welcomes in Trinity Lutheran; South Ripley is at South Dearborn, and Jac-Cen-Del entertains Switzerland County.

The Indiana Hoosiers are college football national champions for the first time after holding off the Miami Hurricanes 27-21 in the College Football Playoff title game last night in Miami. Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza’s 12-yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter provided the game-winning points for #1 Hoosiers, who become the first college football team to finish 16-0 in more than 125 years.

The Philadelphia 76ers knocked off the Indiana Pacers 113-104 in NBA action heard last night on the Sports Voice. Andrew Nembhard led Indiana with 25 points. Paskal Siakam was right behind at 24. The Pacers are back on the court tomorrow night in Boston.
