South Ripley beat Oldenburg Academy 76-58 in boys basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Raiders Seve Beach notches his 100th career win as a head coach. Ripley’s Dylan Jessee led all scorers with 17 points; Eli Gilpin added 15; Landon Werner tossed in 14 points, and Drew Volz and Mason Bascom each had 10. Matthew Belt led the host Twisters with 14 points; Jack Freeland added 13, and Adam Weber had 12 points. With the win, South Ripley improves to 10-4. OA drops to 5-6…Elsewhere around the area, it was Milan over Rising Sun 73-38.

Elsewhere, Oldenburg Academy is at Morristown; Jac-Cen-Del heads to Waldron; North Decatur goes to Lawrenceburg; Greensburg entertains South Dearborn; South Decatur hosts Southwestern (Shelby), and South Ripley journeys to Switzerland County.

In girls hoops last night, Indian Creek turned back Batesville 50-40; and Jac-Cen-Del  grounded Hauser 63-52 at the Eagles Nest.

Coming up on this Saturday, South Ripley goes up against Class 1A #8 Oldenburg at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown; Class 3A #1 Greensburg hops the bus to Scottsburg; East Central visits New Palestine; Franklin County goes to Hagerstown, and Milan is at Edinburgh.

Milan senior Kayla Roell finished seventh in the 125-pound weight class at the IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals in Indianapolis yesterday. Roell, who won the first ever girls state title at 120 last year,  finishes this season with a 33-3 record. Franklin County senior Chloe Bills was eliminated after falling in her first match at 125 to her opponent from North Posey. Bills finishes her senior year at 16-8.

The Indiana Pacers tripped the New Orleans Pelicans 127-119 in NBA action heard last night on the Sports Voice. Indiana’s Jay Huff poured in a game-high 32 points. The Pacers go 3-1 on the homestand, and improve to 10-32 on the season. The Blue and Gold opens a five-game road trip tonight when they go up against the Detroit Pistons. Pregame coverage begins at 7 p.m. on 103.9 FM and the WRBI App.

The Cincinnati Reds were part of a three-team trade that sent infielder Gavin Lux to the Tampa Bay Rays and brought lefthanded reliever Brock Burke from the Los Angeles Angels to the Redlegs. As part of the deal, the Rays sent outfielder Josh Lowe to the Angels, who dealt righthanded pitcher Chris Clark to Tampa Bay.

The NFL Playoffs resume this afternoon with the Divisional Round. Buffalo is at Denver, followed by San Francisco at Seattle.
