Elsewhere, Class 3A #1 Greensburg hammered Rushville 65-24; Jac-Cen-Del beat New Washington 41-26; Oldenburg Academy got past Newport Central Catholic in Kentucky 42-40, and it was Union County over South Decatur 40-33.
Southwestern (Hanover) defeated Batesville 56-42 in boys basketball heard Saturday night on the Sports Voice. In other action, South Ripley knocked off Franklin County 41-26; it was Jac-Cen-Del over South Decatur 77-62; Oldenburg clipped North Decatur 50-48; Dixie Heights crossed the Ohio River from Kentucky and rolled over East Central 55-31, and Milan bounced Edinburgh 71-45.
The Batesville swim teams traveled to Shelbyville on Saturday to take part in the Shelby Relays. The Bulldog girls team finished fourth while the BHS boys came in sixth. Columbus East won the boys meet while Yorktown took the girls meet.

The Pacers stopped the New Orleans Pelicans 119-104 last evening at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in NBA action heard on WRBI. Indiana has won two in a row and improves to 12-15. Off the court, the Pacers acquired backup center Thomas Bryant in a trade on Sunday from the Miami Heat in exchange for a 2031 second round draft pick. The 6-10 Bryant is an Indiana University alum who is in his eighth NBA season. He’s averaging 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11 minutes a game this season. The Pacers scoured the trade market for a backup center after losing big men Isaiah Jackson and James Wiseman to torn Achilles tendons.
The Bengals defeated the Tennessee Titans 37-27 yesterday in Nashville. Cincinnati running back Chase Brown ran for a touchdown and caught one of three Joe Burrow TD passes for another score. With the win, the Bengals improve to 6-8.
The Denver Broncos corralled the Colts 31-13 in the Mile High City. The Broncos put up 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull away. With the loss, Indianapolis drops to 6-8.
