(Brookville/Liberty, IN) – Spectrum is launching Internet, mobile, TV and voice services to more than 5,300 homes and small businesses in Franklin and Union counties.

The network buildout is part of the company’s $7 billion nationwide rural construction initiative.

Officials say the multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from the company and will ultimately add an additional 100,000-plus miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speed internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.

“Over 1,700 residents in Union County and over 3,500 residents in Franklin County will now have access to the internet thanks to help from Spectrum,” said State Rep. Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville). “This expansion is a huge win for the 55th District and is another example of Indiana leaders’ determination to ensure rural communities don’t get left behind.”

“Spectrum’s broadband expansion in Franklin and Union counties will provide a big boost for residents, businesses and economic vitality in these communities,” said State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond). “We are grateful for their support in bringing high-speed internet to even more Hoosiers.”
