Southeastern Indiana REMC donates AED

Milan, Ind. — The Southeastern Indiana Rural Electric Cooperative recently donated an Automatic External Defibrillator to the Milan Park Board.

The American Heart Association says more than 300,000 people in the country suffer sudden cardiac arrest each year, many of the cases become fatal.

Using an AED dramatically increases survivability during a cardiac event. For each minute the victim waits for treatment survivability decreases by 10 percent.

Medical professional encourage residents to learn CPR and how to use AEDs.
