Southeastern Indiana “abnormally dry” on drought monitor map

(Southeastern IN) – Meteorological summer began last Thursday, which was also the first U.S. Drought Monitor map release for this year.

The June 1 map indicates all of Southeastern Indiana is “Abnormally Dry (pictured).”

In fact, most of the state falls under that category, while portions of Eastern, Northeastern, Southern, and Southwestern Indiana are clear.

The latest conditions will be detailed in the map coming out later this week.
