Versailles, IN – The South Ripley Raiders hosted the visiting Hauser Jets in an intriguing matchup on Friday, December 13 with both teams undefeated records hanging on the line.
Straight out of the gate, the Raiders came out blazing hot. Cole Henry’s 12 first quarter points helped South Ripley jump out to a 22-10 lead after the first quarter concluded. Chancie Volz also added 4 points in the quarter.
However, the Jets punched right back and scored 21 points in the second quarter in response to that explosive first quarter from the Raiders. Hauser outscored South Ripley 21-14 in the second quarter behind 4 made three pointers as a team. That run left the halftime score sitting at 36-31 in favor of South Ripley.
After halftime, the Raiders made several adjustments according to that second quarter and controlled much of the second half. In the third quarter, Senior Blaine Ward got things going on offense, scoring 13 points to lead the period. He then added 12 more in the fourth quarter, totaling 25 total points in the second half.
Ward led all scorers with 30 points on 14/20 from the FT line. Cole Henry added 18 points of his own and Drew Volz tallied 11 points.
