South Ripley Shines at YMCA Meet

The swim meet at the Switzerland County YMCA featured fierce competition between South Ripley, Southwestern, Shawe, Rising Sun, and Switzerland County. South Ripley had an impressive showing, with both the men’s and women’s teams securing 2nd place overall.

Here’s a breakdown of South Ripley’s standout performances:

  • 200 Free: Thomas Eaglin claimed 1st place in a thrilling race, finishing just 0.08 seconds ahead of his Rising Sun competitor.
  • 200 IM: Brady Begley earned 2nd place with a time of 2:37.30.
  • 50 Free (Women): Elizabeth McKittrick took 1st place with an impressive 26.04, while Aubrey Henry placed 3rd with 31.25. A big shout-out to Jocelynn Goddard, who shaved 7 seconds off her previous time!
  • 50 Free (Men): Landon Saylor finished 2nd at 25.23, and Jordan Davis secured 3rd with a time of 28.87.
  • 100 Free: Jordan Davis clocked a time of 1:05.52.
  • 200 Free Relay (Women): The team of Lydia Sons, Aubrey Henry, Jocelynn Goddard, and Elizabeth McKittrick placed 2nd, cutting 5.94 seconds from their previous time. In the 200 Medley Relay, the same group improved by 3 seconds.
  • 200 Free Relay (Men): Brady Begley, Thomas Eaglin, Jordan Davis, and Landon Saylor snagged 1st place with a time of 1:51.63, taking 3 seconds off their previous best.
  • 100 Back (Women): Elizabeth McKittrick earned 2nd place with a time of 1:10.59.
  • 100 Back (Men): Landon Saylor also placed 2nd with a time of 1:16.31. A special mention goes to Colton True, who cut an incredible 10 seconds from his previous 100-back time!

The team celebrated numerous personal records and reflected on some tough lessons learned throughout the meet.
