South Ripley JV & Varsity Baseball results versus Hauser

Game 1 – Junior Varsity South Ripley 11 Hauser 6

On Saturday, the South Ripley junior varsity baseball team picked up their first win of the season by defeating the Hauser Jets 11 – 6. Sophomore Trent Smith started the game on the mound and earned the victory by pitching 5 innings and striking out 11 Jet batters. Freshman Austin Hodge pitched two scoreless innings to cap the victory.

Offensively, Smith, Trevor Castner, Mason McNew, Braxton Wilson, Jayden McDaniel, and Jaxon Stenger all collected hits.

South Ripley’s junior varsity returns to action on Thursday against Madison. The first pitch is at 5:30 pm.

Game 2 – Varsity Hauser 13 South Ripley 0

In the varsity game on Saturday, the host Jets scored early and often en route to a 13-0 win over the Raiders. Trevor Castner, Landon Adams, and Brady Ruble logged innings on the mound; McNew, Castner, and Wilson each collected a base hit on the offensive side.

The loss evens the Raiders record at 2-2.

South Ripley is at home against Switzerland County on Monday, April 10, with first pitch at 5 pm.
