South Decatur High School to go virtual due to COVID-19

Greensburg, IN — South Decatur Jr./Sr. High is the first area school to go all virtual starting Tuesday due to the number of staff members that have been linked to a student that is COVID-19 positive through contact tracing. The information was addressed in a letter to students’ families on Friday from Superintendent Dr. Jarrod Burns. The school will remain 100% virtual until returning back on Monday, September 21.

The football game this evening was also canceled due to the number of players that were also linked to the positive student through contact tracing. The letter states that coaches will be reaching out to their teams in the other extracurricular activities to let them know what will be able to take place over the next two weeks.

Dr. Burns would like to issue a reminder to everyone of the importance of social distancing, wearing masks, and proper sanitization, as he notes they do work.

At this time, South Decatur Elementary School will continue with in-person school.
