South Decatur drops football opener to Tindley

After being idle for the first two weeks of the high school football season, South Decatur finally took the field Friday as it hosted Tindley in Westport.  The visiting Tigers beat the Cougars 38-14.

Tindley did most of its damage during a 24-point second quarter and led 24-6 at the half.  Cougar quarterback Kelby Shook accounted for 279 of South’s 374 yards of offense.  He threw for 214 yards and two touchdowns plus rushed for 65.  His TD tosses went to Dale Peters and Jacob Scrugs.
