Mrs. Debra Jean “Debbie” (Brayman) Cox

Mrs. Debra Jean “Debbie” (Brayman) Cox, age 61, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on September 28, 1959 in North Adams, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late, Leon James and Dorothy Ellen (Plew) Brayman. She was raised in North Adams, Massachusetts where she attended Durry High School. Debbie was united in marriage on January 25, 1992 in Schaghticoke, New York to David William Cox. This happy union was blessed with three children, Brian, Kimberly and Bradley. Debbie was employed in housekeeping for Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana from 1999-2011. She was currently employed as a bus monitor for the Switzerland County School Corporation since January 2021. Debbie and David resided in the Vevay, Indiana community since 1996. She was a member of the Fredonia Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana. Debbie enjoyed going to Belterra Casino & Resort and gambling, bird watching, as well as, baking desserts for her family and friends. Above all, Debbie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Debbie passed away at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Debbie will be deeply missed by her loving husband, David William Cox of Vevay, IN; her daughter, Kimberly Cox and her companion, Kyle Coffey of Columbus, IN; her son, Bradley Cox and his companion, Manuel Donati of Columbus, IN; her grandchildren, Taylor Cox, Kyle “James” Mathews and Rebecca Mathews; her sisters, Brenda Nowak and her husband, Francis of Prescott, AZ, Kathleen Bonnier and her husband, Pete of Schaghticoke, NY, Patricia Belcher and her husband, Butch of Melrose, NY; her brothers, James Dooley and his wife, Karen of Troy, NY and Michael Dooley and his wife, Christine of Myrtle Beach, SC and her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and abundance of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon James and Dorothy Ellen (Plew) Brayman; her son, Brian Melzer Cox; her daughter-in-law, Samantha Lynna (Olmstead) Cox and her sister and brother, Sandy and Joey.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021 by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
