In Greensburg’s first Friday of football action after some extended time off, the Pirates lost a heartbreaker to South Dearborn 28-27. Oakley Best’s second touchdown run of the second half gave the Bucs a 27-21 lead in the fourth quarter, but the Knights CJ Rogers ran the rock in later in the period to tie the game. The extra point boot by Taytum Barker proved to be the game winning point.
Greensburg was hampered by four turnovers. GCHS quarterback Sam West threw for 183 yards and rushed for 53 more. He had both a rushing and passing touchdown. Alex Dance led the Pirates with eight total tackles while both Corbin Mathews and Brayden Forkert picked off one SD pass each.
