The following are softball recaps from Thursday, April 21. All games are varsity unless noted otherwise. There may be updates, so please check back.
South Ripley bounced back after a tough conference loss Wednesday with a 6-5 win in eight innings at Trinity Lutheran Thursday.
Alexa Heidt had three hits including a huge three-run homer in the seventh. Mady Tompkins went deep with a two-run shot in the first. Ellie Waldron scored the go ahead run in the eight and pitched six innings with 11 strikeouts. Tompkins tossed the final two frames and got the victory while striking out four.

Rushville fell 5-4 to Greenfield.
For the Lions, Belle Gossett singled, doubled and homered. Kara Chandler pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts against three walks.

Franklin County defeated Milan 20-0. All 20 runs were scored in the second inning on 15 hits.
KK Ferman, Josie Rolfes and Kassidy Schell all homered. Kassidy Schell had a four hit day with five RBI. KK Ferman, Rolfes, Kiersten Schell, Kensee Ferman, and Bree Bishoff all had a pair of hits. Bischoff drove in four runs, KK Ferman and Rolfes batted in three and Kiersten Schell knocked in two. Bischoff pitched a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts.

The Wildcat reserves beat the Indians 12-1. Ten runs were plated in the first.
Bailey Kaiser went deep twice for the FC JV with four RBI. Tiffany Billman tripled and drove in three while Lillie Graff batted home a couple of runs. Kendal Cain struck out four batters in three innings of work for the win.

North Decatur’s varsity was a 7-4 winner over Edinburgh. ND posted four runs in the final frame thanks in part to a home run by Sarah Swain.
Swain along with teammates Kaylin Muckerhide and Keesha Crosland all had two hits. Crosland was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts against no walks.

The ND junior high lost a double header to Hauser. The first game final was 17-11. Libby Crawford and Madison Rohls led the Chargers in hitting with two each.
The Jets took game two by a 12-2 count. Crawford and Jo Whitaker both had a couple of hits for North in this one.
